Lauren Diamond
My name is Lauren, and I am currently a Freshman at The University of Michigan. As someone who has suffered from severe food allergies to peanuts and other legumes, I jumped at the chance my junior year of high school to be a part of an experimental treatment through Stanford Alliance for Food Allergy Research (SAFAR) headed by Kari Nadeau MD, PhD. I have been successfully eating 4000 milligrams of peanut protein daily (equivalent to 16 peanuts!) for more than a year and it has changed my life. I no longer have to worry about what I may accidentally eat. And my allergies no longer play such a prominent role.
